Taft Museum’s ARC Program Encourages Young Artists

Artwork by high school students participating in the Taft Museum of Art’s Artists Reaching Classrooms program (ARC) is on display through March 31at The Annex on Pendleton Street in Over the Rhine.

Dater Foundation Named Foundation of the Year

Foundation Honors Beth Broomall’s 30 Years as Grants Coordinator, Makes Grant in Her Name to Literacy Network

The Dater Foundation celebrated Beth Broomall’s 30th anniversary as Grants Coordinator by giving her the opportunity to make a $30,000 grant to the nonprofit organization of her choice, and Beth chose the Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati.

WGUC Launches Updated Classics for Kids Web Site

WGUC’s Classics for Kids® website now features new games and interactive features for kids, parents and teachers to share their love of classical music. Dater Foundation grants have supported Classic for Kids since 1998 and support of WGUC and WVXU totals $1.2 million.

Congratulations, RiverTrekkers

The Dater Foundation extends congratulations to the 43 teenagers who successfully completed a five-day, four-night 75-mile river journey as part of the Cincinnati Recreation Commission's annual RiverTrek program. (8/6/2015)

Foundation Director Emeritus Dorothy Krone 1925-2015

The Foundation joins her family and friends in mourning the loss of Foundation director emeritus Dorothy Krone. She succeeded her late husband Paul Krone as a board member in 1995 and served until moving to emeritus status in 2005. A memorial service was held Jan. 17 at Knox Presbyterian Church in Hyde Park. Grant Helps Children Dealing with Cancer

The Dater Foundation's support of Cancer Support Community was recently recognized in an article in Hyde Park Living. The Foundation made a $10,000 grant to support the organization's programs in 2014.and has now made grants totaling $122,000 since its first grant in 2000.

Inter Parish Ministry’s Jubilee Celebration

The good work of Inter Parish Ministry was featured in a recent Cincinnati Enquirer article. A Jubilee Celebration is April 6, 2014. One of the Dater Foundation’s first grants was to Inter Parish in 1986. The Foundation has made 22 grants totaling $239,000 and most recently has supported the Mobile Pantry Program.

Salvation Army Gets Grant from Dater Foundation

The Salvation Army recently received a $10,000 grant from the Charles H. Dater Foundation for its Learning Center. at the West Side Corps, serving Price Hill and adjacent areas. (Cincinnati Enquirer, March 2, 2014)

ProKids CASA Volunteers are Heroes

The Cincinnati Enquirer spotlighted the good work of ProKids and its CASA program and volunteers in an article by Krista Ramsey on Sunday, January 19, 2014. The Dater Foundation has supported ProKids and its CASA University with seven grants totaling $115,000 since 2007.

Josh Cares Commits $1 Million to CCHMC

Josh Cares and its supporters were recognized by Cincinnati Children's recently for having given $1 million in support of the Josh Cares Child Life Program since its inception nine years ago. Josh Cares plans to contribute an additional $1million within the next four years. The Dater Foundation has made seven grants totaling $230,000 since 2006. (11/6/2013)

Dater Foundation Supports UC's Med Mentors

The Dater Foundation has awarded a 3-year, $33,000 grant to support the UC Med Mentors program, a mentoring partnership linking College of Medicine students with mentees in Cincinnati Public Schools. (10/30/2013)

Dater Foundation Awards College Scholarships to Dater High Graduates

Six graduating seniors at Gilbert A. Dater High School in Western Hills are the 2013 recipients of college scholarships provided by the Foundation. This year's winners were announced May 9 at the school's Senior Awards Night. (5/9/2013)

Taft Museum of Art and Artists Reaching Classrooms Program

Artists Reaching Classrooms, a youth education program of the Taft Museum of Art, takes art instruction into Greater Cincinnati high schools and encourages students to cultivate their artistic talents. (5/6/2013)

Dater Foundation and Inner City Youth Opportunities

The Dater Foundation joined other supporters of Inner City Youth Opportunities at the Montgomery Inn Boathouse in December to celebrate the organization’s successes. The Foundation has made grants annually since 1997 and support totals nearly $500,000. (2/8/2013)
