IPM continues to serve more and more community members. In 2022, IPM provided nearly 40 mobile food pantries, a method that provides food for about 70 percent of IPM clients. Partnering with more than 50 community organizations, IPM provides over one million pounds of food each year to families in need.

Grants made in May:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County, $25,000.  The Youth Mentoring program helps over 500 underserved children succeed, not by trying to “fix” them, but by connecting them with caring mentors role models who serve as living, breathing testaments to the success their mentees can The supportive, healthy relationships formed between mentors and mentees are both immediate and long-term and contribute to a host of benefits for mentors and me

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati, $25,000.  The Graduate education program provides 1,500 underserved young people in Cincinnati’s poorest neighborhoods with tutoring, high-level activities and life skills to prepare them for trade school, military enlistment, community college or a four-year college/university.

Cincinnati Museum Center, $50,000.  Children’s Learning stimulates love of learning and serves over 400,000 young people and families with exciting, educational and age-appropriate programming that fuels curiosity and critical thinking for young visitors throughout the year.  

Go Pantry, $25,000.  Summer GO Boxes are part of a larger program that provides reliable food to underserved kids during the summer months when they are away from school and its free or reduced lunch program. 

Inter Parish Ministry, $65,000.  Drive-through food pantries and mobile pantries as well as a new consolidated pantry site and distribution center are helping IPM deal with increased demand and post-pandemic food insecurity issues.

Last Mile Food Rescue, $75,000.. Last Mile uses an extensive network of volunteers and innovative technology to deliver unused or unwanted food to organizations that serve people who are hungry and in need.  Some 3.5 million pounds of food provide 2.9 million free meals at a cost of 30 cents per meal to Last Mile.

LifeCenter, $25,000.  The Celebrate Life Calendar is a publication distributed strategically in the community to raise awareness levels about the organ donation network.    

The Dater Foundation makes grants to non-profit organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area to carry out programs that benefit young people and focus in the areas of arts/culture, education, healthcare, social services and other community needs.  Information about the grantmaking process and guidelines and links to an online grant application website are available at www.DaterFoundation.org.

The private foundation was established by fourth-generation Cincinnatian, businessman and philanthropist Charles Dater (1912-1993) to ensure that his resources would continue to fund worthwhile community programs after his death.  The foundation has made more than 3,500 grants totaling over $70 million since its inception in 1985.
