Community Engagement & Education Program
The CCO is requesting $25,000 support from the Charles H. Dater Foundation for the 2022-23 Community Engagement & Education Program, which includes partnerships with Music for Youth in Cincinnati (MYCincinnati), the Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House, the Joseph House, and Mindful Music Moments, among others. In addition, the CCO in partnership with CET will present the collaborative project 'Carnival of the Animals: Remix' on October 8 and 9 at the School for Creative & Performing Arts and continue it's educational online series 'American Roots.'
Program Goals:
The objectives and goals for the 2022-23 grant period included the competition of the long-term collaborative project "Carnival of the Animals - Remix" and the continuation of the "American Roots" series, as well as continuing the longstanding partnerships with MYCincinnati, Mindful Music Moments (The Well), and the Ronald McDonald House, among others.
Program Results included:
— the presentation and filming of 'Carnival of the Animals - Remix';
— the creation of educational materials accompanying 'Carnival', which are available for free through PBSLearningMedia.org;
— providing a teaching artist for MYCincinnati ;
— partnering with MYCincinnati and Queen City Opera for the 8th annual Price Hill Music Festival;
— free community performances at the Ronald McDonald House, Joseph House, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, City Gospel Mission, Hamilton County Juvenile Court Youth Center, and Gorman Farm;
— providing music recordings for The Well's Mindful Music Moments;
