‘Job Readiness is Cincinnati Works' core program, providing its Members with training and coaching to prepare them to acquire and retain employment. Coaches work with unemployed and underemployed Members throughout their journey to economic self-sufficiency, helping them map out an overall career plan, apply for jobs, retain employment, build workplace and professional skills, overcome barriers to employment, and learn financial management skills. Cincinnati Works is also connected to over 40 partner agencies that provide additional help to Members in overcoming barriers to employment.. Coaches help Members coordinate these services for an overall, comprehensive approach to a path out of poverty for themselves and their families. Services are available to Members for life at no charge. Members may leave and come back, as they need or prefer. For most, the path out of poverty is a long and winding one, often taking 3 to 5 years or longer.
