Youth Apprentice Program
ArtWorks’ Youth Apprentice Employment uses community-driven public art projects to create meaningful jobs for youth (ages 14-21, more than 50% of whom are from underserved households, more than 51% BIPOC) and provide them with essential 21st-century career-readiness skills training. ArtWorks employs professional artists to mentor Youth Apprentices at a 5:1 ratio, helping them develop both hard and soft skills (teambuilding, self-confidence, social awareness, and leadership). The program also includes enrichment workshops in resume writing, interviewing, and financial literacy as well as public speaking experience and communication training.
