Advancing to High Quality
Child care providers face many barriers to increasing their quality rating. Many cannot afford the critical training and resources needed to meet quality standards and complete the quality rating process, and this barrier has been expounded by the financial effects of COVID-19. This work is imperative, as the State of Ohio has issued a mandate that all child care providers accepting children from low-income families (families that pay for child care through state assistance) must be quality rated and all child care centers must achieve high quality (three, four, or five star) by June 30, 2025. This project will provide the professional coaching and training child care providers need to ensure that all child care programs maintain or increase their quality rating and that 60% of child care programs achieve a high rating by June 30, 2021.
