Pre-K through college education programs

Historic Southwest Ohio, Inc., operates the Heritage Village Museum and Educational Center.  The Village is a 19th century recreated village using 13 buildings and outbuildings that have been moved to a location within Sharon Woods Park.  Funding in 2020 was used to purchase supplies to be used in the educational programs and summer camp to create a unique learning experience for students from schools in the tri-state region.  The programs incorporate three-four buildings within the Village and include hands-on activities to reinforce what is being taught in the program.  The mission is to teach students what life was like in Ohio in the 1800s.  Student learn what the difference is in on how life is lived today compared to the 1800s.  COVID had an impact on attendance for education programs for schools in the Tri-State area.  Less than 100 students attended programs, but one virtual program was presented for about 25 students and the organization began creating other virtual programs.  Funds were used to pay a portion of the Education Director's salary and that of the summer camp counselor.
