Education Program
Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is a resident ensemble theatre company bringing Shakespeare and the Classics to life for all. For more than 20 years, the CSC Education Program has been dedicated to improving the perception, appreciation, and overall comprehension of William Shakespeare. A grant from the Dater Foundation supported in-person and virtual programs including workshops, classes, summer camps, in-school tours, student matinee performances and the groundbreaking educational initiative, PROJECT38. In March 2020, COVID-19 forced the cancellation or postponement of nearly all of CSC’s activities; however, the CSC Education Program still served 28,939 students with 18 student matinees, 42 in-school tours, 5 in-school workshops, 5 in-school residencies, 48 sessions of acting classes, nine weeks of Summer Camp, and over 150 in-school workshops for PROJECT38. Thanks to grant support, 59% of programming was provided at no cost to students or schools, CSC’s highest percentage ever.
