Winter Break Food Sack Program
Childhood Food Solutions (CFS) provided sacks of groceries, before winter break, to the preschool and elementary-age students of seven public schools where all students receive free breakfast and lunch on school days. These schools serve neighborhood students in zip code 45225 and the three zip codes of Price Hill (45204, 45205 and part of 45214).
Each student received two sacks of groceries in order to provide food for the late-December days when they would not be in school.
This program builds on the work CFS began in 2007 in zip code 45225. CFS packs and distributes sacks of carefully selected grocery items to provide nutrition for non-school days.
This project is an important component of the year-round program that provides food support for late-month non-school days.
