Educational Programs for Children and Families

The Taft Museum of Art (TMA) is one of Cincinnati’s cultural icons and strives to embrace the community accessibility that Charles and Anna Sinton Taft envisioned for their home and art collection.

The Taft fulfills that vision by offering: free arts-integrated field trips for schools; a free monthly event, 3rd Sunday Funday designed for families and youth; Artists Reaching Classrooms, a year-long arts program for high school students; Art for Underserved School Audiences (Art for All) for elementary students; Taft Jr. on the Go for pre-school children; and professional development workshops for teachers.

During the 2018-2019-year, Taft education programs served 60 schools and impacted 5,940 children and youth. New partnerships with Ronald McDonald House, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and Su Casa reached 360 children and caregivers who would not have otherwise come to the Museum.

The support of the Dater Foundation enables the Taft to provide meaningful experiences with great art, in a historic setting and in the community, and supports the Museum’s pursuit of creating enjoyment and learning opportunities through community-based educational and outreach initiatives.
