Peanut Butter & Jam program for young children
Linton Chamber Music is dedicated to bringing world-class chamber music concerts to audiences of all ages. Through its three distinct series: Linton Chamber Music Series, Encore! Linton, and Peanut Butter and Jam Sessions, Linton reaches out to audiences of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds with concerts throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. Through its Peanut Butter & Jam Sessions, Linton strives to improve children’s lives by inspiring them to participate in music. Peanut Butter & Jam Sessions are informal concerts designed to give pre-school children and their families an interactive, educational and fun introduction to classical music. During the 2018-19 season, with the assistance of a Dater Foundation grant, Linton was able to expand this unique early childhood concert series by programming 40 Peanut Butter & Jam Sessions in a variety of locations throughout Greater Cincinnati, including free concerts at Williams Avenue Elementary School in Norwood, Child Focus, serving Clermont County Head Start families, and John P. Parker Elementary School in Madisonville. The Dater grant also helped Linton to provide a new in-school program focused on serving students in Avondale and supported low tickets prices for young families allowing this program to serve 2,653 people, including 1,591 children in the 2018-19 season.
