Education programs for youth

Historic Southwest Ohio, Inc., operates the Heritage Village Museum and Educational Center.  The Village is a 19th century recreated village using 13 buildings and outbuildings that have been moved to and located within Sharon Woods Park.  Funding in 2019 was used to purchase supplies to be used in our educational programs to create a unique learning experience for students from schools in the tri-state region.  The programs incorporate three-four buildings within the Village and include hands-on activities to reinforce what is being taught in the program.  The mission is to teach the students what life was like in Ohio in the 1800s.  The students learn what the difference between how life is today compared to the 1800s.  Some funds from the grant were used to invite schools that did not have the resources to pay for the modest admission price.  Over 4,000 students were impacted in 2019.
