After-school Arts Program for Inner-city At-Risk Teens
In the 2018-19 year, Elementz served over 200 inner-city teens in its music and dance center in the Findlay Market district of Over-the-Rhine. The year began as the organization completed its move to a new, fully-outfitted arts center with state-of-the-art studios for dance, music, poetry and visual arts. For the first time in its seventeen year history, new programming for children ages 6-12 was added. Elementz uses art from Hip Hop culture to help children and teens develop creative skills and at the same time, build critical social-emotional skills that are vital for academic success. The Dater Foundation has been a major supporter of this outreach program for talented and creative inner-city youth.
