Community Outreach Programming for Youth
Baker Hunt has been providing art education in Covington for almost 100 years, and is committed to providing art making experiences to everyone in the community. In recent years education has been taking the art out of STEAM. The Center frequently receives calls and emails from schools wanting art education for their students. Baker Hunt Community Outreach Programming is designed to provide creative learning opportunities and positive outlets to the youth in the community. This happens through art clubs, community events, school events, and art camps. Studying art lets children learn positive attitudes, habits, and behaviors. These are all necessary for success in life. It is an important ingredient for personal growth and development, as well as, providing a way to develop self-confidence and a sense of community. With support of the Dater Foundation, Baker Hunt has been able to increase art making experiences for youth in the community by more than 6,000 experiences.
